Steal the Style: American Horror Story Coven

If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent the last few angst filled weeks tortured by promo teasers awaiting the premier of the new season of American Horror Story.

Last week the witching hour finally arrived as American Horror Story got our blood pumping with its latest shrieky tale of terror, the 3rd in their deliciously creepy horror anthology: American Horror Story Coven.

…and oh my New Orleans Chicory Coffee & Beignet loving heart the first episode “Bitchcraft” was a wonderfully wicked watch!

American Horror Story: Coven tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over three hundred years have passed since the turbulent days of Salem and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe, who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona, the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

AHS Coven boasts a  powerful female cast including AHS alumnae Jessica Lange , Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Jamie Brewer along with first-timers Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Gabourey Sidibe and Emma Roberts.

A drastic depart from the nun habits and hospital garbs of last season, Costume Designer Lou Eyrich (the original costume designer of Glee) drapes our fashionable coven of witches in a bewitchingly chic and on trend mix of high, low and vintage finds creating a perfect Witches Brew of style.

Here’s how you can steal the American Horror Story Coven Style and assure that you WON’T be ” a sloppy little witch bitch” :

  4. I am in love with the fashion in this show already! In the second episode, jessica lange has on a pair of black oxford heels and I have searched everywhere to find them. I will double check to make sure I saw the shoes correctly, but if anyone knows the brand of those shoes, please help a girl out!!

  5. Does anybody know the boots Taissa Farmiga is wearing while she’s carying Kyle back to his mom’s house? They’re black with a natural heel, gold zip in the back, and three gold buckles across the top. THANKS!!!

  8. I was obsessed with Myrtle’s lovely gloves too.
I didn’t rest for about a week until I found them.

Dorothy Gaspar is the designer behind those iconic gloves. (I learned that from this article: —

Fellow obsessed fashion hunter/glove lover Chanel (The Lost Olsen Twin — called Dorothy Gaspar (gaspar gloves) and sadly… they aren’t offered in store, but you can call 323-441-1986 and have them custom made for $475.00.

So, I can’t afford them, but I found them. I can rest now. Hope you can too.

Read more about Myrtle Snow’s fab style at the Costume Designer’s Guild article I posted at the top. I don’t work for any of these people. I’m just a nut about this stuff and hope to help feed all the other cuckoos in the wacky obsessed fashion clock.

  9. To anyone who may also be tearful about the pricetag on Myrtle Snow’s wonderful red gloves, I have a solution! I stopped watching and had to look up Atsuko Kudo’s collections, to see if they were made by her as I had suspected. Apparently, not. She had made a similar style dress for Lady Gaga (the one she wore to meet the Queen of England). Anyway, Atsuko Kudo makes really similar gloves and other pieces to the ones formentioned. Happy browsing! x

  10. I’m trying, in vain to find out the sunglasses Jessica Lange wears. They look like they have a bit of silver on the top outer edges of the rims. Anybody know? Thanks!

  11. Can you tell me the designer of the sunglasses worn by Sarah Paulson on the finale? The sunglasses she was wearing with the black turtleneck and floral skirt.

  13. Can anyone tell me the brand and style of sunglasses worn by Fiona Goode in Season 3 Episode 5 when she is at the outside cafe with Madison? I have searched everywhere with no luck

    Thank you!
