Last week I did a fun segment on Las Vegas Now with my pal Lindsey Simon where I shared some of my favorite eco-friendly and sun protective products.
No trip to the beach is complete without the perfect swimsuit and a well stocked beach bag. Why not make sure that bag includes a list of products you feel good about!
I brought along two gorgeous beach babes from TNG model to kick things off.
Rylee is wearing a fun sporty tankini from NEXT Swimwear. Created for an active beach lifestyle their swimwear is made to stand-up through Paddle Boarding, Pilates, Running and Yoga. Each swimsuit is made with NextFlex fabric which contains UPF 50 sun protection built right into the fabric! Available at SwimSpot.com
Angelica is rocking a gorgeous bikini from VYB Swim. I am OBSESSED with this brand. Their collection is completely sustainable. All of their swimwear is created from deadstock fabric, which is excess fabric from the garment industry that was destined to end up in landfills. They rescue it, up-cycle it and create stunning limited edition swimwear at affordable prices. Available at VYBswim.com
Alot of people use disposable plastic bags to store their wet swimwear, why not opt for a reusable one? The Travel Happens Wet Bag from the Container Store is great for storing damp or dripping clothing PLUS it protects your other belongings from getting wet!
Instead of a disposable cup for those beachside/poolside cocktails why not opt for a reusable one? I LOVE this Portable Wine Glass from the Container Store. It’s two part design stores the stem inside the bowl for easy travel and easy assembly.
One of my summer faves is this Organic Cleansing Body Spray from Purequosa. It;s made from essential oils and colloidal silver which neutralize body odor and kill bacteria. 100% Pure they are perfect for a quick refresh at the beach, pool or after a workout! Available at Purequosa.com
Las Vegas FINALLY has it’s first Soft Surroundings which opened its doors recently at the District complete with an AMAZING beauty counter. I showcased a few of my top picks.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this adorable Cheeky beach tote. It’s perfect for storing all your beach gear.
One of my summer MUST MUST MUST haves is ColorScience Sunforgettable SPF 50 Brush on Sunscreen. It’s sunscreen without the greasy mess. Sheer and weightless just brush it on anytime for broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
Also available at Soft Surroundings is my summer BFF Emma Hardie Amazing Face Protect and Prime SPF50. It’s a dual action time saver that pairs a light diffusing primer with broad spectrum SPF protection. Its blurs, brightens and beautifies the skin. Think of it as an INSTAGRAM filer brought to life with sun protection.
Speaking of Sun Protection. Many people have reaction to the chemicals in most sunscreens. Promise Organic Coconut Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 is a non-chemical sunscreen that combines Zinc Oxide, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and a blend of essential oils. On top of being certified organic its also fragrance free, designed for sensitive skin and dermatologist tested! Available at CVS Pharmacy.
Last but not least- I’ve shared this tip with you before. It’s a closely guarded secret stylist tip to solve the problem of dripping wet swimsuits. Have you ever been to a SPA or a private beach where they had swimwear dryers in the bathrooms? A salad spinner does EXACTLY the same thing!
Just place your sopping wet swimwear in the spinner. Give it a Spin and Voila. Just like it does with lettuce, all the excess water has been separated from the fabric. Now your swimsuit is just damp as opposed to a drippy mess and will dry out super-quick. This works with any type of manual salad spinner. I use a large one so that I can fit one-piece styles and mens trunks in it as well.
