Saranghae Korean Skincare

Saranghae Skincare Review

While most of the world has their attention turned towards Korea for the Olympics…my attention is turned to Korea’s most famous asset: Skincare.

Korean Beauty or K-Beauty as it’s come to be known in the beauty world places a huge emphasis on skincare and effective natural ingredients, merging health and beauty.

I recently discovered a K-Beauty company that I fell head-over-designer-heels in love with: Saranghae.

Saranghae is a Korean/American skincare company that recently launched a North American presence.  Saranghae (Sarang-hay) means “I love you” in Korean, so cute right!

Saranghae Skincare

The concept behind Saranghae skincare is finding a balance between science and the traditional Korean medicine of using botanical ingredients to help protect, heal and renew your skin. They have created a fantastic five step anti-aging skincare system that will help rejuvenate your skin and combat the signs of aging using natural ingredients which are harvested responsibly.

There is so much IN their products such as green tea, chamomile, ginseng, and other botanicals BUT what is equally amazing is what ISN’T in their products.

Saranghae contains ZERO chemical nasties like formaldehydes, heavy metals or parabens PLUS all of their products are cruelty free!

The formulas are created in South Korea, but all of their products are manufactured and bottled, packaged and shipped from FDA approved laboratories in California.

Saranghae’s active ingredients are derived from the essence of 10 ancient plants, herbs and flowers that grow from nutrient rich volcanic soil on a small island in South Korea. Volcanic soil is extremely rich in minerals and nutrients, so rich that Green Tea leaves harvested from volcanic soil show 250% greater concentration of antioxidants than ordinary Green tea. This means that these 10 ingredients harvested for Saranghae boasts the highest concentration of antioxidants, minerals and nutrients. (source)

The ingenious thing about Saranghae’s 5-Step Skin Care System, is that it simplifies the Korean skincare routine for people who might feel intimidated or overwhelmed by starting a 10-plus step routine.

Saranghae sent me a package to try about a month ago containing their 5 step routine.

I’ve been using this skincare program for about four weeks now and I am in love.

STEP ONE: Nourishing and Moisturizing Cleanser. The first step in the Saranghae system is to wash your face with the Nourishing and Moisturizing Cleanser to eliminate oil, micro-particles, grime, dirt and toxins while hydrating and nourishing your skin at the same time.  This cleaners is oil-based which is typical for a K-Beauty cleanser and is pretty gentle, but powerful. You can get some nice suds from it which sets it apart from most other oil cleanser which won’t suds up all all.  It’s gently removed my foundation (I still needed a little eye makeup remover to take off my eye makeup) and left my skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrated.  Plus it has pretty little gold flecks in it.

STEP TWO: Deep Radiance Essence Serum. Designed to penetrate your outer epidermis layer and deliver crucial nutrients like antioxidants, amino acids and vitamins directly to your living cells.  Crafted with 10% Phellinus Linteus (Sang Hwang) Mushroom extract, plant based placenta, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, the result is a skin that efficiently heals and regenerates every moment of every day.  This is probably my most favorite product in the system.  It feels AMAZING and really helps the appearance of my neck.

STEP THREE: Firm and Lift Regeneration Cream. Decreases the formation of free radicals and reduces damage due to oxidative stress.  The powerful but natural blend of antioxidants, amino acids and regenerative peptides delivers astonishingly smooth, supple and quite simply beautiful skin while diminishing age spots, redness and visible signs of aging.  Feels great and leaves skin super moisturized.

STEP FOUR: Focus Renewal Eye Cream. To restore vitality, diminish wrinkles, visibly lift and firm and brighten the appearance of dark circles around the eyes due to it being formulated with Phellinus Linteus Mushroom Extract, adenosine, vitamin B3, elastin and collagen.

Insider Tip: I have a little trick I like to use with eye creams.  Apply eye cream around your lips as well!  The skin around the eye area is extremely delicatejust like the skin on your lips. Those two spots are where wrinkles tend to form first. Another pitfall of our pout is that it doesn’t have the sebaceous glands that keep the rest of our face moisturized. So this is where an eye cream, packed with a slew of active ingredients to deeply hydrate, increase volume, improve definition, smooth, and prevent/minimize lines, really comes into play.

STEP FIVE:  The Essential Essence Mask helps calm inflamed skin and eliminate redness caused by stress and pollution, enhance the natural contours of the face, maximize brightness, reduce and prevent fine lines/wrinkles, and Deliver antioxidant CoQ10 & Hyaluronic Acid for repair and regeneration of skin cells.  The Saranghae Elemental Essence Mask contains a ton of plant extracts, including lotus (nelumbo nucifera), followed by collagen, peptides, a vitamin C derivative, ubiquinone (CoQ10) and hyaluronic acid.  It feels amazing and is the perfect way to unwind at the end of the week.  You only need to use this once a week or as needed.

Try the system out for yourself and fall in LOVE!  Saranghae is available at LoveSaranghae.com
