Do you like handbags that show your personality? Well luxury handbag and jewelry designer Kara Ross has taken this concept to a whole new level with the #MyPURSEonality Collection.
The character based collection and customization tool launched earlier this month on the KaraRossNY.com website and is taking Instagram by storm!
Ross’ goal was to create not just a bag but an entire experience for the customer. A bag the buyer is personally connected to, not just a new luxury handbag purchase.
I must say, well done Kara Ross. Goal Achieved. These personality packed bags have fashionista’s everywhere saving up their dollars to create one of these whimsical mini-me bags.
The premise behind the customization tool is similar to Nike iD’s, which allows the customer to design every element of their sneakers, except in this case it’s for luxury handbags.
Each customizable bag is handcrafted in New York City from a luxurious array of materials including black, white and beige leather, black, white and champagne python, and champagne lizard. In the design tool you select every feature of the ADORBS bags. Everything from the leather to hardware and it’s PURSEonality such as flirty eyes, sexy eyebrows, funky glasses and even heart shaped cheeks and lips.
For those needed a little help getting started in the design process there is a specialty quiz on the Kara Ross New York website that will help determine whether you are a panda, the uptown girl, the popstar or the mogul. My result was THE POPSTAR and the description is pretty spot-on: You are currently avoiding the paparazzi. You love skinny margs and shopping at J.Crew. Your ideal date spot is La Grenouille followed by watching Pitch Perfect back at my place. You never leave home without your lip gloss and a good instagram filter.
The bags measure 7.875″ wide and 4.75 inches tall and about 1.5″ deep and feature a metal chain shoulder strap that enables the bag to be worn five ways: as a clutch, a long shoulder bag, a short shoulder bag, a cross body bag and as a backpack.
The price of the customizable clutches is around the $1795 dollar mark (depending on materials used).
