Monster High: It's Alive! (Screamy Tweeny Fashions)

It’s Alive!!!!!!

Whether you are a fan of it or not, the epic success of Twilight has proven one thing: Tweens love stories about vampires, werewolves and monsters trying to survive high school!

Today’s youth like to take a cheery trip to the dark side.  Of course they are drawn to and relate to these kinds of stories, real high school is full of blood suckers!

Mattel has recently launched  a freakishly fashionable franchise called Monster High! It’s like Clueless meets Harry Potter.  Tweens get monsters, vampires, and those who are furry challenged along with fashionably fantastic clothing!

The Monster High storyline is set around the descendants of the world’s most famous monsters trying to brave high school.  Rolling out as part of the franchise is a series of books by young adult author Lisi Harrison.  The first book in the series, Monster High, debuted Sept. 1, 2010 at #9 on the New York Time’s best sellers list for chapter books.  “Refreshingly relative and clever, Monster High is a novel with a monster twist on young love, teen angst and the challenges of fitting in”.

Accompanying the books are a full line of products including webisodes, toys, fashion accessories, footwear, Halloween costumes and a clothing line available at Justice.

Monster High style mixes a little bit of Avril Lavine, a dash of fashion week runway, a dab of rock and roll and a pinch of good old fashion classic monster movie.

Fun, Quirky and Unique…each doll/character in the line has its own freaky fashion style along with some accessories that are to die for!

Frankie Stein: the new girl at school who is the 15 day old creation of Frankenstein and his bride.

Draculaura: the vegan vampire child of Count Dracula who carries a frilly umbrella so she can take walks in the sun.

Clawdeen Wolf : the fashionable daughter of The Werewolf who has to tweeze, pluck and shave unwanted hair between classes.

Fashion, humor and monsters! This line would have “turned” me into a doll lover for sure if it was around when I was a pre-teen!

Meet a few of the kids from Monster High:

The Monster High clothing line is exactly what mini fashionistas have been waiting for.  Edgy, fun and fashionable the clothing features Monster High’s signature Skullette (a skull with lashes and a pink bow) on tops, bottoms, sleepwear, cosmetics and accessories.

Mini hipsters are contantly asking me where to get some cheery dark side clothing, and up until now its been next to impossible for the pre-teen set.

Here you go my pretties!  Monster High at Justice is the answer to your tweenie siren call!  Check out some of these pieces:

There are even frightfully fantastic Halloween costumes available at Party City!  Dress like your favorite tween Monster and scare them in style!

Monster High has more in store!  In Spring 2011 the Monster High Sequel will hit shelves and in 2012 a Live-Action Feature Film Musical, not to mention new content and more webisodes on their website this Fall!

  1. I’m so excited …I was just saying to BayLa the other night we should find a series of books to read at bedtime. I’m so over all the kiddie books, so thank you for the post on Monster High. BayLa is in love with Justice, so not only will we be purchasing the books, but we might have to throw in some clothes- YOU JUST MADE HER DAY and mine!!!

  2. Jaelynn was so excited to see your blog this week! Monster High is her new favorite thing! She has already made out her Monster high Christmas list! Did you also know that Justice is the only store she shops at? She would love her Auntie Christie sooooooooo much if she won this amazing prize!

  3. Hi this is the first time I have ever posted anything EVER!! But I was searching for ther Frankie coustume for my daughter and came across this site.
I feel my fashionista is deserving of this prize not only because she could be a hollywood stylist to the stars at the ripe age of ten; sketch with Project Runways best, and aspires to attend F.I.T for college. She is a sweet, thoughtful child that has her heart set on being Frankie for Halloween. She certain no one at her school will have this costume,I don’t want to crush her dreams but the way things are going she may be the only one in the NYC tri-state area without it.Have a heart and make the fashion dreams of a future international designer come true!

  4. My lil tween is a freaky fashionista cause she’s more than the awesome clothes she wears. She’s about the strong bond between her friends and her love of all the diversity in her life. Monster High sort of sums of that philosophy.

  5. Well, it sounds like a few Mummys would love to see their little ones wrapped up in some frightfully fashionable threads! What a great blog with some monstrously good advice – not to mention a giveaway that would make any ghoul howl! Keep it up- you’re blog is to die for!

  7. My tween niece, Anna, loves Monster High and is quite the freaky fashionsita. She loves to make her own unique look and would be perfect as Frankie for Halloween. Like Frankie, she is stylish and a little klutzy.

Anna is the sweetest, most grateful girl and this prize would make her day.

    Thanks!
