LOTD Stripes and Denim

Have you ever bought something that you love but it just doesn’t seem to work with any look you try to put together?

This is the story behind my striped tuxedo jacket.

I bought this jacket a few seasons ago at Ann Taylor…cute right?  I fell in love with it but every time I tried to pair it with something it just looked off.  So there it sat in my closet with the tags still on until I purchased this constant-compliment receiving secretary blouse from MODCLOTH.

They are a match made in heaven.

As I shared a couple weeks ago in a Trend Alert Post Show Your Stripes, stripes are HUGE for SS16 but they can be tricky to wear.

It’s all about the placement of the stripes.  For me stripes on my lower half are a “no thank you” so I keep them north of the equator.

I love the cut and fit of this jacket and it’s feather-weight silk nature makes it a perfect Spring layering piece that is chic, crisp, airy and light.

If you follow me on any social media you know I am a sucker for a good pussy-bow blouse.

This one is from a collection sold on MODCLOTH called Milk Tops- they come in several colors- mine is called Black Tea with Milk, there is also Green Tea with Milk and Vanilla Milk. You can guess the colors lol.

ALWAYS on the hunt for the perfect jean.  Denim shopping for me is a full on safari.  My curvy figure makes finding a jean that fits both my hips and waist an elusive animal.

Seriously picture me, a dressing room and about 45 pairs of jeans in an epic battle to find one that fits.

My blogging pal Marisela at Diverse City Style has been singing the praises of AG denim so I had to take a pair for a test drive!

I am wearing the AG Beau Slouchy Skinny which I picked up at Marshalls for a STEAL at $49.99!

They are super lightweight.  Fit in both the waist and hips and are fitted enough to have the look of a skinny jean without me feeling squeezed in like a sausage!  The distressing adds a little city grit to contrast with the tuxedo jacket.  I give them an A+

The SHOES!

I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!  I am totally OBSESSED with my new Donald J Pliner Sania heel.

You first saw these gorgeous gals in my post about the DJP SS16 Collection and you will be seeing them again and again all Spring/Summer long.  the Sania is my top heel pick for Spring 16 for both style, comfort and price.
